Filled with love
I’m a very lucky man and the envy of every male coworker. My wife has made me a lunch pretty much every day that I go to work. I know that it’s hard for her to get up at 6:00 am and find the bread, mayo, and lunch meat. I often ask her, What’s for lunch? Did you put lots of love in there?
Sometimes it’s a hmmmph or a yeah, yeah, lots of love…lots of love.
Over the years, some have been rather creative. Oh, there’s the standard baloney or PB & J’s and there’s the turkey variety (for ten straight days after Thanksgiving & Christmas). I’ve even had a mashed potato sandwich! Another time, I had two pieces of bread with a slice of baloney — that’s it, just bread and baloney, no condiments. But the all time winner was the two pieces of bread with a slice of cardboard* — this time with condiments included. I was two bites into it before I realized it wasn’t my flavor of cardboard. I prefer corrugated over plain because it has more roughage.
Regardless of the lunch or what’s inside, I know that they’ve got to be filled with love. Otherwise, why would she be doing it for the past 27 years?
*After reading this blog entry, she informed me that the cardboard had a purpose because she had written The breadwinner award on it. As though that would have made it more palatable.

it's Roughage. Ruff, ruff is what dogs says.
er, 'what dogs say'
I have been trying myself to make Dave's lunch in the mornings. I vary from P.B. to ham. Sometimes he asks for a tomato to spice things up. But this cardboard idea is fantastic!
Dave's a lucky man — variety!
Who would have thought of putting a tomato on a P.B. sandwich to spice it up? But if Dave asks…to each their own.
I would definitely not go with the cardboard idea…not sure you have been married long enough.
