How to catch a chocolate thief

I am a naturally inquisitive person. This makes catching me getting into cs' secret chocolate stash an easy proposition for a slightly smarter being, well at least at first.

What you need for this to work is the following...
• some chocolate covered peanut M&M’s
• a candy jar with a small opening
• some time
• and, of course, ld

The set up -
1. First, eat all of the milk chocolate almond clusters that came in the jar that was hidden in a secret place.
2. Leave the empty jar (with the attached label) in plain view on the counter for a day or two.
3. Eat some of the M&M’s, in view of ld - you do not need to do this, but it will probably help.
4. Pour the M&M’s into the jar.
5. Go and hide, somewhere you can watch.
6. Wait until ld reaches into the jar.
7. ld will grab the M&M’s, and not let go, almost no matter what.
8. With ld’s fist trapped down in the jar, all that needs to be done is to catch him getting into the secret stash of chocolate candy.

Is ld worried? Yes. He’ll try his best to get away. For he knows he has something good in his grasp, and he is determined to take that good thing with him as he runs away.

Why do you need to still mom's candy? I'm sure you still have your valentines day chocolates hidden by the side of your bed wrapped and untouched

If I leave them wrapped, then I know that nobody has been sneaking pieces and I don't find an empty box when I get a craving for some chocolate…besides, if I eat hers, then I still have mine left for a rainy day.

You are certainly one to talk…I always remember you hiding your Easter and Christmas candy.
