The man & the mountain
Last Sunday at a stake training session, I had the opportunity to sit across the table from Ben Woolsey.
Ben is a retired postal worker and a counselor in the BYU 67th student ward. Somehow we got on the subject of Mount Timpanogos.
Turns out that Ben is the "unofficial" record holder of the number of times climbing the mountain — 421 times (as of last Sunday). Seems that Ben climbs the mountain 3 to 4 times a week. He goes by way of the Timpooneke trail - 14 miles round trip. He gets started around 4:00 a.m. and it takes him 5 hours to get back. Pretty amazing.
I remember climbing it two or three times myself, but I have a ways to go to catch up to Ben's record.

That is an impressive feat indeed. In fact just reading about it makes me need a nap. I think I'll go take one ASAP so that I can be rested up should the opportunity arrive to hike Timp :)
