Lipstick


The other day, in a staff meeting, a co-worker was trying to explain himself out of situation. He was telling why the results turned out the way they did. He was taking full responsibility, but just wanted to make sure all of the facts from his point of view were told. To emphasize the fact that he wasn't taking it lightly and wasn't trying to cover things up he stated: I'm not trying to put lipstick on a pig. I take full responsibility.

The statement took everyone by surprise. I don't think that anyone had heard that saying before. I know that I hadn't. It worked out for him, because the mental picture cracked everyone up so much it got him out of a jam.
