A fine art


Last night, cs' new computer was making a noise. It sounded like it might be the fan.

cs: What should I do?

ld: Take it in to 'Simply Mac' tomorrow. It is still under warranty.

cs: It was making the noise earlier too.

ld: Examines the computer for a bit. Googles: MacBook, noisy fan.

The found search says to check if there are any pending print files that haven't printed and then delete them. (Say, what? Can't figure out what that would have to do with a fan.) Looks in the print que and finds nothing. Looks at computer a bit more.

Turns laptop over — bottom side up. Puts closer to ear. Sounds like "fan chatter". Takes palm of hand and "smacks" bottom of computer. Problem solved—no more noisy fan.

cs: What did you do?

ld: Saved you a trip to 'Simply Mac'.
