Where have all the bloggers gone?

Seems that everyone has been idling the time away and yet nobody has been posting?

I have been enjoying the lazy days of summer; however I do have a reason for not posting — my laptop has been non-functioning since Monday. It started a week or two ago, when the left shift key and left option key stopped working (cs have you been near my computer?). It was annoying the daylights out of me.

I received a letter in the mail from Apple asking if I wanted to purchase additional warranty coverage. I then realized that my laptop was still under warranty. I needed to find a certified Apple repair shop within ten days. Since CompUSA had closed down, I thought that I would have to go to the Apple Store at the Gateway. I searched the internet and found out that Simply Mac was an authorized/certified Apple repair shop.

I took it in Monday thinking that they would have to ship it off somewhere for repair. I was wondering how I would function in my second job without the laptop (getting out agendas, calendars, etc). Imagine my surprise when I took it in and they apologized saying that they were really busy and backed-up with repairs and it would take until Thursday or Friday.

Did you say Thursday or Friday? I was thinking that it would be 10 days to 2 weeks.

Got it back yesterday! As good as new. Fantastic! They had to replace the whole keyboard. I had looked on line about replacing the keyboard and it showed that they have to take the whole laptop apart to get to it. Boy, am I glad that it was still under warranty. The guy told cs, that I was lucky too. He said that it would have been a pretty penny or two if I had had to pick up the tab.

So, when I got home from work I was all excited to test it out. Busy signal…well not really a busy signal, but the modern day version of it…you are not connected to the internet. Bummmmmer!

Several phone calls ensued. First to the ISP provider. All was okay on their end of things. Next a call to Qwest. Turns out that it was a problem on their end. One of their servers was down somewhere and they had no idea when it would be up and running. I was chomping at the bit to try out my SlingPlayer connection because I had just boosted my DSL connection speed…you know…I got into the loop. And now, I had to wait.

So I had to turn to some other form of entertainment — like reading a book — The Path Between the Seas.

As you can see, the busy signal got unbusy and I can now surf the web and post to the blog. Care to join me?
