Lockjaw?

Is it lockjaw or my favorite deep thought coming back to haunt me?

I remember teasing my brother when we were young and he had stepped on a nail. He refused to get a tetanus shot because he was afraid of needles. I told him that if he didn't get the shot then he would get lockjaw. (I gained all of my vast knowledge from 7th grade health class.) To dramatize the effect, I'd clench my jaw as though it wouldn't open and tried talking.

I did big brothers everywhere complete justice…I had him mortified. He was begging to have the shot by the time I was through with him.

Now, the gloom, despair and agony on me is continuing.

I can't open my mouth wide without a pain shooting into the left socket of my jaw bone. It feels as though it needs to pop back into place. I tried eating a hamburger and it pains me to try and open my mouth wide enough to eat it. (I think that I've found diet remedy #3).

Looks like it's milkshakes (or c8's leftover strained peaches) through a straw until I get the problem solved.

i hope the problem remedies itself soon, as someone who had their jaw "wired" shut for 6 weeks post surgery, milkshakes get old...fast!
