Old Glory
I attended a flag burning today. It wasn’t my idea and I’m somewhat embarrassed to state that I was coerced into attending.
My mother invited me to take my dad and her this morning to the Lindon Cemetary.
There was a large crowd of people (besides those that permanently reside there); however, there wasn’t any riotous marching or protestations going on.
It was an hour-long ceremony to retire the old flag by burning it and remembering the new flag. They also honored all those from Lindon that have served and are serving in the armed forces—past and present. It was indeed a nice way of “saluting” those that have fought to maintain our rights and our freedom.
I, too, salute you. Thank you, each and every one of you.
Today, I attended a flag burning…I think that I’ll make it an annual habit.
